Miriam Garfinkle Social Justice Fund

2025 grants for Palestine solidarity work

The Miriam Garfinkle Social Justice Fund will be making small grants in the range of $250 to $500 each to groups involved in raising public awareness of, and support for, the struggle of the Palestinian people.

The grants are intended to assist groups with direct expenses such as printing leaflets, flyers, posters, and buttons, or such as renting a space to hold events such as showing a film, organizing a workshop, or hosting a speaker.

Group activities should be broadly consistent with the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions approach as defined by the Palestinian BDS National Committee: bdsmovement.net/bnc

To apply (or if you have questions) please submit a description of your group, its activities, and what you propose to use the money for, to mgsjf [at] connexions.org.

The application deadline for the current cycle is March 17, 2025. We anticipate making decisions within a couple of weeks after the deadline.

If you receive a grant, we ask that afterwards you provide a simple brief report on how you used to money and how effective you think your activities have been. We also ask that you send copies of any printed materials you produce to the Connexions Archive, a Toronto-based grassroots archive documenting the history of grassroots movements for social change (www.connexions.org/CxArchive.html)

The Miriam Garfinkle Social Justice Fund was established to honour the legacy of Miriam Garfinkle (1954 - 2018), a Canadian physician and social justice activist who worked for many years to support the struggles of the Palestinian peoples. Your donation to the fund will help support more activities like this. For more information see https://miriamgarfinklefund.org
